Drivin’ n Jivin (2012)
display typeface design
Created during my university studies, Drivin’ n Jivin’ is a custom typeface inspired by the bold, eye-catching signage of 1950s motels. The font features modulated curves and varied line weights, with wide, chunky letterforms—traits commonly found in vintage roadside typography.
To enhance its retro character, I incorporated off-centered elements and angular lines, adding a sense of movement and playfulness. Designed exclusively as a display typeface, Drivin’ n Jivin’ is available in uppercase only and is best suited for large-scale applications like posters, billboards, and headlines where its personality can truly shine.
